Sen. Bam thanks voters for continued trust amid deluge of fake news

Sen. Bam Aquino thanked the Filipino people for their continued trust and support after he landed in the top 12 of the Social Weather Stations (SWS) senatorial survey.

Bam, who was in a tie for 10th to 12th places in the SWS survey conducted from February 25 to 28.

Sen. Bam expressed gratitude to the people who fight for the truth amid the prevalence of fake news and trolls that seek to destroy his reputation and accomplishments.

Bam.

Sen. Bam called on voters to unite and strengthen their fight for an independent Senate that will protect the welfare of the public.

Bam said.

Sen. Bam, pasok sa Magic 12!

Re-electionist Sen. Bam Aquino made it to the top 12 of the Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey in time for the filing of certificate of candidacy for the 2019 elections.

The September 15-23 SWS survey, commissioned by a certain Alde Pagulayan, deputy secretary general of Lakas-CMD, showed that Sen. Bam is tied for 10th to 12th spots with 22 percent. SWS reportedly used face-to-face interviews of 1,500 adults (18 years old and above) nationwide.

Bam.

Sen. Bam has over 30 laws to his name, including the landmark free college law that provides free education to Filipinos in state universities and colleges, local universities and colleges and TESDA-run technical-vocational institutions.

Sen. Bam’s first law, the Go Negosyo Act, resulted in the establishment of over 900 Negosyo Centers, which cater to the needs of Filipinos who want to start or expand their own business.

Currently, Sen. Bam is pushing for the passage of the Senate Bill No. 1798 or the Bawas Presyo sa Petrolyo Bill in an effort to lower prices of petroleum products, which in turn would lead to lower prices of food and other goods.

Filed last May 10, 2018, the Bawas Presyo sa Petrolyo Bill seeks to suspend the collection of excise tax on fuel once inflation rate breaches the annual inflation target over a three-month period.

Bam happy with rise in VP Leni Robredo’s satisfaction rating

Senator Bam Aquino congratulated Vice President Leni Robredo for the rise in her satisfaction rating, saying her consistent hard work to uplift underprivileged communities is paying off.

Based on the survey conducted by the Social Weather Stations (SWS) from September 23 to 27 on 1,500 respondents, Vice President Robredo’s net satisfaction rating for the third quarter of 2017 rose from +36 to “good” +41.

Bam, the campaign manager of VP Leni during the 2016 elections.

“The rise in VP Leni’s satisfaction rating is the fruit of her hard work to uplift underprivileged communities. Bam.

The senator noted that the Senate even boosted Robredo’s efforts to help poor communities by adding P20 million to the budget of the Office of the Vice President (OVP) for her Angat Buhay program, through the initiative of Majority Floor Leader Tito Sotto.

Sen. Bam expects VP Leni to use the survey as inspiration as she further strengthens her plans, programs and advocacies for the poor. ”Tuloy lang ang trabaho para sa bayan. Tuloy ang laban,” added Sen. Bam.

Sen. Bam: Drop in ratings ‘wake-up call’ for Duterte, PNP to stop killings

The drop in President Duterte’s approval and trust ratings should serve as wake-up call for the Philippine National Police (PNP) to rethink its strategy for the drug war and address the killings in our communities, according to Sen. Bam Aquino.

Bam.

According to the latest Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey conducted from September 23 to 27 via face-to-face interviews with 1,500 adult respondents, President Duterte’s net satisfaction rating dropped 18 percent from a “very good” 66 percent in June to a “good” 48 percent.

The survey also showed that President Duterte’s trust rating suffered a 15-percent dip from an “excellent” +75 in June to a “very good” + 60.

While the SWS did not give any explanation for the drop, Sen. Bam believes that investigations that looked into the killings, especially of teenagers Kian delos Santos, Carl Arnaiz and Reynaldo de Guzman, affected the Chief Executive’s survey ratings.

Bam, referring to the June 23 to 26, 2017 SWS survey where seven of 10 Filipinos expressed fear that they themselves or someone they know will become a victim of an extrajudicial killing (EJK).

“The President should not take this for granted. Bam.

In a previous interview, Sen. Bam said the minority senators will move for the slashing of the P900-million Tokhang budget during the amendment period for the 2018 national budget.

Bam added.
